Barbados will be home to another world class rum distillery, as Scottish whisky maker Kilchoman receives planning permission to build a rum distillery on the island.
The new distillery will be constructed at Bentley Plantation in the southern parish of St. Philip.
The sugar cane will be sourced from adjoining fields and crushed on-site. Two copper pot stills will be used for distillation, followed by maturation and bottling.
